TESCOS Winter Ball 2011 - THANK YOU
The committee would like to take this opportunity to thank all who attended the TESCOS Winter Ball on Saturday 26 November, 2011. The Winter ball surpassed all our expectations as being one of the best Winter balls ever. The meal, the table decorations, the company, the music, the dancing, the atmosphere – everything about the evening was fantastic. The committee hopes everyone enjoyed the free bottle of wine at each table and hopes it helped get the evening off to a great start. Herr Vecchi and his team did a tremendous job with the turkey and roast beef – succulent and moist as ever. And Doreen’s turkey stuffing was fantastic. The Morchel cream soup and cold starters were fabulous. However, most will agree the dessert buffet was unbelievable – tarts, puddings, cheeses, fruit salad, “Proseco Glace” and so much more – simply incredible – certainly a highlight for anyone having a sweet tooth and loving desserts. Another highlight of the evening was the foot-stomping, adrenaline-pumping music served up by the band “The Noise Brothers” – they certainly hit all the right notes with cover hits from the Beatles, Elvis and many other favorites. Everyone had a marvellous time dancing to the tunes we all grew up listening to. Although the band managed to play “just a wee bit longer”, we all could have danced the night away. I’m sure several of us needed to take time off on Sunday to recover and rest our dancing feet. The committee sends an special “Thank You” to Judith Lowrie for entertaining us with her jazz music during the meal. And congratulations go to Christine Thum for winning the raffle tickets to the Kiwi Cinema, Robbie Notz for winning the Sunday brunch at the Sommerlust restaurant and an extra big congratulations go to Anne Barbato for winning the CHF 150 gift voucher from Muscial.ch. Please let us know how you all enjoy your raffle prizes. The Winter ball was a huge success and a wonderful way to end the year on such a high note. The committee not only takes pride but also feels we have been successful when so many of the members enjoy the events. And we are certain, all who attended, enjoyed the this year’s Winter ball. The committee hopes to see many of you next year at our events. And please don’t forget the fondue evening scheduled for Saturday, 14 January 2012. Details will follow in January.
